How To Clear Google Drive space & increase storage?
Your G Drive storage limit is shared across Google Drive, Google email, and Google images or photos. First you should see what takes up your Google Drive space.
What uses my Google drive storage space?
: Maximum files in your “My Drive,” including PDFs, Photos, videos, and items in your Trash folder. Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Sites do not use your storage. Learn how to empty your trash.
- Gmail: Emails and attachments, including items in Spam and Trash folders.
: Images and videos stored using the “Original” size. (You can change the size so photos and videos don’t use drive storage.)
Some applications may store “hidden data or information” in Google Drive. To view how much data is used:
- Go to drive.google.com web page.
- Click Settings (gear icon) tab.
- Click Manage Apps button.
If there is any type of hidden app data, the amount will appear under the app description section. To delete such kind of data, click Options > Delete hidden app data
These items don’t take up space
: Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, web Sites, and files in “Shared with me folder.” Files only take up space in the owner’s Google Drive folder.
: Images and videos stored using the “High Quality” size. Learn how to change the size in Settings.
- Pixel phones:
You can back up an unlimited phone number of photos and videos to Google Photos from a Pixel mobile phone.
